Please describe the project specifications.
Custom tower bimini for Centurion Boats with Maximus Towers.
What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?
To offer an alternative to the factory option that was not only easier to use but provide more sun shade and extra storage for surf boards.
What is unique or complex about the project?
We had to design our own hardware to the mounts to the boat and in doing so we build in our own hinge and strut into the mounted hardware. having the parts machined proved to be difficult and resulting in 2 prototypes the cost us more to make than the first 5 tops we sold. We use 1″ stainless to finish out the frame work with sunbrella fabric and polyester netting for pockets for surf boards. The top folds open toward the front of the boat over the top of the tower giving the customer the head room of the tower at the same time making the canvas taught.
What were the results of the project?
An excellent top with lots of sun shade, about 80″x90″ that is easy to set up, put way and provides lots of shade and extra storage for surf boards.
