Please describe the project specifications

Customers wanted all new soft goods: sunpads, exterior cockpit, helm u shaped table seating, master and vberth bedding.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Young Couple purchased an older vessel/2006, wanted to update it. We were asked during the fall of 2014 to work on the project winter of 2015 and have completed by April 15. We used this time to research fabric that would complement the name of vessel “Mahalo” and the owner’s love of their annual trips to Hawaii. Fabric is all marine exterior grade used for upholstery.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Finding unique fabrics with a Hawaiian theme that would stand up to elements and were marine grade. As a New England based form we don’t work with palm tree themes that often. Once we sourced the palm tree themed fabric, the customer loved it so much they wanted to use in the largest seating area. right. We had to make sure the large repeat could match up perfectly in several sections and in the U shape...yiks! Keeping this all labeled and in place during production of all sewing was very important.

What were the results of the project?

Customer happy and spent summer onboard with family. We have been asked to work at their coastal home with a project to add an enclosure to a pool house. We used Sunbrella heavy weight fabric, keder welting and common snap fastners to attach and secure two 20ft sections to the structure.
