Please describe the project specifications
The design, development, manufacturing and installation of 6 retractable automated umbrellas for an educational facility.
What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?
The client requested an architectural solution for the provision of shade within an educational facility. The emphasis was placed on providing an innovative design that could be easily retracted as required.
What is unique or complex about the project?
This project required the development and manufacture of a electonically controlled system that would enable easy retraction of the six umbrellas (either in a group or individually)
Each umbrella has LED lighting and internal drainage, in addition to an anemometer which monitors the environment and restricts umbrella control during inclement weather conditions.
The fabric used for the umbrellas was a SEEFAR 4T20HF - a fluoropolymer coated woven ptfe which was to client specification.
Each umbrella measures 12 m x 12m on plan
What were the results of the project?
The delivery of 6 automated retractable umbrellas, with puch button control - providing a climate control shade solution for an educational recreational area.
