Please describe the project specifications

Custom fabricated Z Loft Hotel Bar & Grill patio canopy enclosure, measuring 29’ 6” wide by 34’ 6” projection, with 22 seasonal enclosure panels plus 2 framed fabric doors. Steel substructure consists of (6) 6” x 6” x .250” wall steel posts with 10” x 10” x .375” steel base plates. There are (3) 6” x 10” x .250” wall steel beams with capped ends at the top of posts. Steel support posts are painted black and bolted to concrete pad via structural anchors. Aluminum canopy frames are all welded sections that mechanically fastened together onsite. Canopy attaches to the building and steel support posts are located along the perimeter of the canopy. Canopy frame and sidewall panel frames are unpainted mill finish aluminum. Front gutter was installed to channel all water run –off. The fabric is Fire Retardant Ferrari 502-2157, color Aniseed. All main fabric seams are water tight welded vs sewn with welded in clear vinyl windows.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

There was an existing spacious restaurant patio that the client wanted to have their guests enjoy during inclement year round. They wanted to rent out the patio space for private parties as well. They also requested the specific Fire Retardant Fabric Ferrari 502-2157, bright color called Aniseed to coordinate with existing patio décor and logo color.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The new canopy needed to tie into the building and existing standing seam metal canopy all while allowing for proper snow/rain run-off. The goal of keeping the patio area dry was achieved.

What were the results of the project?

The client was very pleased with how the canopy enclosure enhanced the overall look of the restaurant. The bright fabric color choice and unique design was a beautiful addition to the existing patio. Customers can stay dry and comfortable while dining or listening to music. The owner continues to receive compliments and revenue has increased with the private party rentals.
