Please describe the project specifications

Custom fabric radius and sloped cantilevered canopy for the backyard patio area. The fabric is Stam 6002 Forest Green and measures 21’ diameter x 8’ projection. Canopy frame is 1x4 .125 and 2x4 .125, 6061-T6 welded aluminum tubing and 6x6 .1875 steel tubing painted Forest Green. The steel posts are anchored to concrete piers.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The homeowners have a large Oak tree in their backyard and the pollen seeds cover their patio furniture like rain. They requested a unique canopy to protect the furniture from the nuisance of the Oak tree droppings. This would allow them to keep their furniture outside year round without having to cover it.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The radius and slope of the cantilevered canopy was very unique. The canopy design followed the patio shape and needed to be aligned directly below the tree line in order to protect the furniture.

What were the results of the project?

The client is very pleased that the canopy design accomplished the goal of protecting their patio furniture from the tree pollen. The addition of the unique canopy enhanced the existing backyard’s beautiful landscape and inground pool.
