Please describe the project specifications

This project consists of a custom entrance canopy approximately 26' Projection by 44' Wide, with a 12' Clearance Height. Flame-retardant and water-proof, Hazelnut Serge Ferrari STAM 6002 Fabric protects the 1,144 square foot coverage area. The canopy is engineered for 146 MPH Exposure "C" Wind-Loads, and for Seismic Design Category "B".

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Eide worked closely with Jacobs Engineering to design, build and install this custom entrance canopy with rocket nozzle cones at the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center in Kiln, Mississippi.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Eide installed the upright canopy frames first; and then DNP, Inc. mounted two B-9169 Engine Nozzle Cones to the posts. Once the rocket cones were in place, Eide completed the installation of the bowed rafters and Serge Ferrari STAM 6002 fabric cover to create a unique entrance canopy as part of NASA's renovation project.
