Three (3) Main Kiosk Canopies (Double Mast)
- Each Approx. Dimensions are 12'-6" High x 18'-0" Projection x 24'-6" Wide
- Each Approx. Coverage Area is 244 Sq.Ft. (Total 732 Sq.Ft.)
- Flame-retardant, Sheerfill V PTFE Coated Fabric

Two (2) Valet Canopies (Single Mast)
- One Canopy is Removable
- Each Approx. Dimensions are 11'-6" High x 11'-4" Projection x 13'-10" Wide
- Each Approx. Coverage Area is 53 Sq.Ft. (Total 106 Sq.Ft.)
- Flame-retardant, Serge Ferrari Precontraint 502 Fabric


What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

This series of five custom Tension Structures serve as the valet waiting area and kiosks for the restaurants at The Pike in Long Beach, California.


What is unique or complex about the project?

One of the canopies was designed to be removable to accommodate the temporary grand stands for the annual Long Beach Grand Prix that takes in the same parking lot.


What were the results of the project?

Teflon coated fiberglass membranes were used for the covers to provide high translucency and brilliant night lighting. The framework was designed to house electrical for a variety of accessories including televisions, lights and heaters.
