Please describe the project specifications

It is a tensile structure of trapezoidal plant with a large double curvature membrane, 75 meters long and 45 meters wide in its central part, tensioned with cables towards a series of perimeter columns which discharge the tensions in the ground through wind cables.
It is located on the Huaca Cao, in archaeological complex in the Department of Trujillo, Peru.


What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The requirement was to replace the existing coverage, respecting the design in all its aspects, and solving water infiltration problems both inside and in the perimeter.


What is unique or complex about the project?

The complexity of the project was when carrying out the evaluations of all the components, columns and foundations these were totally deteriorated; what it implied, not only replace the coverage but, build the totality of its components.
On the other hand when studying the existing membrane, this had many problems in its geometry, likewise the details and fasteners had not worked efficiently, so the project had to contemplate the improvement and solution of these problems.


What were the results of the project?

All the problems detected were solved, the membrane was perfectly stabilized so that there is no stagnation on the surface and the rainwater is well controlled in the perimeter zone.
