To provide shelter from the strong sun and rain.
Our clients requested their outdoor deck area that was set away from their beach house, have a roof structure which was water tight and clear roller screens that when rolled up were not visible from the outside of the structure.
A clean professional looking structure which fitted in well with the surroundings of this quaint property.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Our clients quaint holiday property in a small beach town north of Christchurch have an outdoor deck set away from the house which they wanted to have fully enclosed. This allows them to enjoy the outdoors and scenery while providing shelter from the strong summer sun and cooler weather.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Our clients requested a fully enclosed water tight roof structure with clear screens that could be retracted vertically. Their one desire with the clear screens was the rollers to be unseen from outside the structure. We fitted the rollers behind the valance of the framed roof thus providing a clear line of sight without the rollers being visible.
Due to the location of this project the components we used needed to be able to withstand the rigors of a coastal environment. The framed structure was fabricated in parts in our factory and then assembled and covered on site due to the nature and size of the frame.
