Please describe the project specifications

L-shaped frame and fabric canopy enclosure fabricated for MRI patients
to have privacy and coverage from weather elements while being transported for the procedure. Welded substructure consists of eleven 4”x4” steel posts and 5”x4” steel horizontal beams. The canopy fabric is Ferrari 502, measuring 37’ x 60’ and the enclosure panels are fabricated aluminum staple frames. There are seven clear vinyl windows overlooking the garden area. The framework was painted to match the fabric.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The hospital was renovating their MRI department and getting new equipment installed. In the interim, they set up a temporary MRI trailer outside the hospital to perform the procedures. The canopy enclosure was needed for coverage and privacy while transporting patients to/from the trailer.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The area we had to work within was a complex configuration due to the existing hospital building exterior walls and the location of the MRI trailer. The enclosure frame had to be fabricated to fit within these existing limitations.

What were the results of the project?

The hospital staff was very pleased that we created a canopy/enclosure solution to enhance the usage of their temporary MRI trailer. Once the renovation is complete, the canopy will remain in place and the sidewalls are able to be removed.
