What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The purpose of the canopy was to protect visitors from the weather elements on the long walkway from the parking lot to the main front entrance. The design allowed for light fixtures to be mounted underneath the canopy. The client wanted to provide comfort and safety while entering/exiting their facility.

What is unique or complex about the project?

A unique feature is the single post free standing cantilever nature in a 115 mile an hour snow load region. The bottom Ferrari 381 soffit panel system contains a design intent of hiding all fasteners and structure support framework. The canopy ties together metal flashing and fabric panels.

What were the results of the project?

The client was pleased with the aesthetic design, the unique shape and size of the long walkway canopy. Customers and employees are happy to be protected from the weather elements.
