Please describe the project specifications

Seven custom slope style motorized awnings with open ends, each measuring 4’6” tall x 4’ projection x 7’6 1/4” wide. Awnings are fabricated with custom stainless steel CNC machined framework and painted graphics. Wind sensors were inserted into each awning. The loose valances are designed to be rigid and will not flip on top of the awning body.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The store location is in downtown Chicago where frequent high wind/rain storms occur. The client requested the awning to be stainless steel and easily retract to withstand higher than average wind conditions. The graphics allow for branding and the decorative components along with fabric color bring attention to their storefront on a busy street.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The unique quality of the awning is the 100% stainless steel framework and highly decorative elements. Each awning has a wind sensor to help monitor the weather conditions. Historic wall and window mullion conditions were factors in the installation and engineering.

What were the results of the project?

The client was extremely pleased with the upscale design, durability and function of the stainless steel motorized retractable awnings.
