Please describe the project specifications

Jerry Jones gathered with colleagues friends and family to celebrate his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. With artists such as Justin Timberlake slated to perform, it was essential that the structure provided be worth of the occasion.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The client requested a 15,000 sq. ft. A’Frame structure that was completely blacked out on both the interior and exterior. This would assist in accentuating the black and gold color theme of the night. The client also wanted the ability to support a significant amount of production elements. This structure served as the main reception hall moments after Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The all black design made this structure truly unique. Many clients employ a ceiling liner element to achieve a black interior, but we were required to manufacture all black interior black exterior roofing panels, gables and wall panels. The entrance view was especially striking as we provided a black fabric wrapped boxed awning structure.

This build was very challenging because the terrain at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton was extremely unleveled. Prior to building the tenting structure, the entire area was elevated and leveled with a structurally braced scaffolding deck. All the of the anchors and service openings were marked and opened prior to the erection of the tenting structure.

Our crew was given approximately 9 days to have the structure completely turned over to the producers of the event. Initially, this would seem like a significant amount of time with the sis cope, but the extreme grade variations on location made building out the scaffold decking a multi-day affair. To overcome time lost, our team built elements of the structure in a different area and moved them into place once the scaffold was ready.

What were the results of the project?

The client was extremely happy, and the press coverage of the event gave almost only positive reviews. We’ve worked on multiple projects with this client in the past, and we’re already in the planning stages for new events for 2018 and 2019.
