Please describe the project specifications

An aft enclosure with small front windows, roll-up and pole out sides, aft curtains with fly screen and roll-down cover, a roof rack for solar panels and tender.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The customer wanted to make an extra room area for multiple uses, daytime shade, night time extra sleeping space. The frame needed to be open on the sides for free access with a minimal frame design. The side curtains needed to do two jobs. An integrated roof rack was made to house solar panels and be strong enough to mount there tender on. It also makes great side handles for walking around the boat.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This was a challenge, the architect owner wanted to multi purpose many aspects of the project. The roof rack needed to be adjustable to suit different solar panel sizes and and bigger tender's in the future. We chose a part welded and part sliding fittings system to keep the options open for the changes to come.
The side curtains were made to roll up and be held out with a fiberglass batten system with minimal fixtures to support the poles.

What were the results of the project?

The owner/skipper was stunned with the results, the versatility and the innovation of the roof rack and pole-out curtains and the complete transformation of the usable space that was created. It is a complete transformation for the boat.
