Please describe the project specifications

This project was presented to us as an outdoor alcove patio 34' x 35' with small existing side structures. These patio side sections were covered on top with old stained shade cloth.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The purpose of this project was complete patio shade. The Client was interested in a retractable panel system for shade. Utilizing the existing beam structure, the Client requested that we design the panel widths, section depths and drapes for the existing side areas and add panels to the center section as well.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This is one of Napa Valley's older wineries built 40 years ago . The patio construction was serviceable, but it took a fair amount of reinforcing to support the cable tension. Given the buildings architecture, the elevated center section was visually cohesive and complimented.

What were the results of the project?

The Client was very pleased with the finished product. The Clients request for total patio shade coverage was achieved. We have received a number of referrals.
