Please describe the project specifications

A complete makeover of a very rough looking 2001 Weeres Flight Deck 280 tritoon. Including flooring and all seating.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

This project was an all hands on deck sort of project. Our client came to us wondering if it would be worth it to completely makeover his tritoon. After seeing a detailed quote from us and the fact it is nearly impossible to find another tritoon that allowes 28 passengers he decided to go thru with the makover. Our client was very specific and very engauged in every aspect of the make over. He requested several different design concepts to choose from. He wanted his boat to be modern and sleek. Our client wanted easy clean up flooring that wont get mold or mildew stricken. Together with his ideas of the color concept and our modern design ideas we came up with an award worthy vessel!

What is unique or complex about the project?

The one thing that stands out the most about this boat is the diamon stitching in the back rests captains chair and sun deck. The Diamond pattern we used was a double stitch diamond sewn with a single needle sewing machine. To add diffictlty to this pattern it was sew with light grey thread on vinyl over 1/4 inch muslin back foam to define each diamond. To get the double stitch diamond stitches to match up so perfectly was no easy task and took plenty of man hours. To add to the complexity, each piece lines up without breaking the pattern to allow the diamonds to flow flawlessly. After deciding on the diamond pattern in the seating we chose the diamond pattern flooring to compliment the seating. This was the first time we used Afinity flooring and found it to be great quality and fairly easy to install! When going over the color concept our client left it up to us to decide which color goes where. We decided to go with lighter colored seats with the darker color in the back rests to help prevent burnt skin from the heat of the sun.

What were the results of the project?

This boat started out in rough shape and with our help our client literally found his Diamond In the Rough. He has told us he has had guest out on the boat this year and noone can believe it is the same boat. They are gushing over the design and how everything ties together so perfectly. He is very happy with his decision to give his boat a makeover we are already recieving referals from him!!
