Please describe the project specifications
We created a sturdy yet inviting structure to support five billowed slide wire canopies and two twelve-foot rope operated drop screens to create a comfortable space for our client to relax and choose how much light she lets in her patio and in her home.
What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?
Our client had a permanent shade structure from her patio which made her the interior of her home dark and somber. She wanted to have the option of letting more light into her home while being able to keep the summer heat out and being able to get as much light as possible in the wintertime.
What is unique or complex about the project?
To be able to begin this project the client first had to have the permanent structure removed and her patio reinforced to withstand the weight and strain of the new shade structure. We installed 3” square framework that was mounted with five slide wire canopy panels and two twelve-foot rope operated drop screens that just above the floor of the patio.
What were the results of the project?
Our client was thrilled with the results of her shade structure and was more than satisfied with the ability to choose how much light she wanted both on her patio and in her home. The slide wire canopies, made with our custom spreader bars, created a pleasant billowing effect and made the canopies easier to retract if needed. Even when the slide wire canopies are fully extended the Textaline material allows enough light in to still make the patio feel light. The rope operated drop screens help keep the temperature of our client’s home down while still letting enough light in to make it feel cozy.
