Please describe the project specifications

We manufactured a full tent enclosure for a 2018 Yamaha 242 Limited S. This tent goes up and over the tower and opened bimini, and secures with a rachet that cinches around the rub rail of the boat.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Our client approached us needing a camping enclosure for their boat but were opposed to installing snaps in their brand-new boat. They also requested that the enclosure be able to be in use while the bimini top was extended.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The requests our client made for this project brought different aspects of some of our products into one. To keep the enclosure taut without using snaps we used a ratcheting system that cinches the enclosure to the rub rail, a solution we use frequently while making travel covers. The enclosure also needed to be created in a way that would force any precipitation our clients encountered to run off rather than puddle on the top of the enclosure. Something we deal with frequently when creating tie-down covers. Our tent-like enclosure not only needed to functional, it also needed to be comfortable and easy to enter and exit. Two screens and privacy flaps were added for light and air flow and two doorways were created making accessibility painless

What were the results of the project?

The result was a beautifully crafted tent enclosure that is accessible, comfortable, waterproof, and attractive. The customer was delighted with the outcome of the project and were excited to make a trial run.
